When Trusting God with Your Children Feels Like the Hardest Thing to Do...
There’s something sacred about being a mother.
The moment you first hold your child, you realize your heart now lives outside your body. You start dreaming for them, praying over them, and doing everything in your power to protect them from the pain and unpredictability of this world.
But motherhood is also one long, beautiful journey of surrender.
Surrender isn’t passive. It’s not giving up. It’s choosing to trust God when everything in you wants to hold on tighter. It’s laying down fear and picking up faith—day after day, moment after moment.
Recently, I had the honor of writing a devotional for the beautiful blog Simply Scripture. It’s called:
“Prayers for Your Children: A Mother’s Prayer of Trust and Surrender”

In this devotional, I share what it looks like to prayerfully release our children into God's care—especially when trust feels hard. Whether you're raising toddlers or teenagers, children with unique needs, or kids navigating hard seasons, you know the weight that motherhood carries.
I know it too.
There have been so many moments I’ve prayed through tears—asking God to fill in the gaps where I fall short, to go before my children when I can’t, and to hold them in ways I never could. I’ve learned (and am still learning) that the most powerful thing I can do as a mother is to get on my knees. That real strength is found in surrender.
And that peace comes when I remember Whose they truly are.
If you’ve ever asked questions like:
“How do I let go and trust God with my children?”
“How do I pray when I feel helpless?”
“What does surrender really look like as a mom?”
This devotional is for you.
It’s raw. It’s real. And it’s written from the heart of a mama who doesn’t have it all figured out—but who knows the One who does.
I’d love for you to read it, share it with another mom who might need encouragement, or even print it out and pray through it when your heart feels heavy.

And if it blesses you, I’d love to hear about it. I believe that when mothers pray, heaven moves. There is no prayer too small, no cry too quiet, and no moment of surrender that God doesn’t see. He is with you in this sacred calling.
We don’t have to be perfect moms. We just have to be present—and prayerful.
With grace,
